The weather station theme was enjoyed by all. What fun we had with all the different activities. In the role play corner, we set up a TV set where the children recorded each other presenting the weather. We were able to put into practice all the weather vocabulary we had learnt. Our busy meteorologists were on high alert as a storm was brewing. At the measurement station the children used their Math skills to measure snowfall and rainfall. Down at the Art and Craft Station the children were kept busy designing outfits for our dolls for Summer and Winter and then we had our Antarctic small world which gave lots of scope for imaginative play. All in all it was a fun filled November.

Our Christmas post office was a real hit with our Senior Infants. In the role play corner we set up a Christmas themed post office where the children weighed parcels and sold stamps. The customers learnt how to wrap and decorate Christmas parcels – a skill that will come in so useful at this time of the year. It was customer day at the post office so we made some Christmas themed cakes which were expertly decorated with oodles of sprinkles. Our Small World was a Christmas themed village surrounded by a train set. Our writing station afforded us valuable learning skills where we were taught how to address envelopes and write cards. We wish it could be Christmas every day.
