The boys and girls in Ms Kilkenny’s class had a great first month in Woodland N.S. They have settled in so well and and are loving their new school.
They have been getting to know their new classmates (and teacher) through play, circle time, games, visits to the sensory playground and much more. They also loved getting to know their class mascots (teddies) too- Eddie and Dara.
They have been working hard at developing their fine motor skills through morning activities so that their hands will be strong for when they start to learn how to write their letters.
They have been learning about the importance of being kind, sharing and turn- taking during play and yard time and to make sure no one feels left out.
The children have been learning lots of new words and phrases during Gaeilge lessons (with the help of our Gaeilge puppet Freddie) and Ms Kilkenny was very impressed to learn that some children already knew some Gaeilge!!!
After all their hard work in September they were very lucky to be treated to some ice-cream by Ms Slevin to say a huge well done 🙂
Have a look at the video below to see what they have been getting up to!
