What a busy year Mrs McLaughlin’s class have had this year! Here are a few highlights from this spring/ summer!

We celebrated St.Patrick’s day together!

We enjoyed exploring The Garden Centre as one of our Aistear themes 💚 The children played in the role-play corner, designed their own gardens and constructed their own flower creations using varied materials and play dough! They also printed using vegetables.

We had big fun playing ‘doctors and nurses’ during our Doctor’s Surgery theme. We painted x-rays of our arms, we enjoyed role-plays in both the surgery and in the baby’s hospital and we made our very own doctors bags!

We were lucky enough to have had the opportunity to visit incubated eggs, and later we met the chicks and ducks after they’d hatched! There was great excitement! Some of us even held the little creatures and we learned to be quiet and gentle around them.

We had heaps of fun during the Aistear theme ‘At the Seaside’! We played with kinetic sand and water, we drew sandcastles and decorated ice-creams with colours and glitter. We even got to eat our very own ice-cream!

We had a teddy bear’s picnic, but first we went for a walk to the local woods! We climbed, we ran, we gathered, we laughed!

We supported the 6th classes as they ran the annual 5km race. We were amazed by their stamina and they inspired us!

We had our school tour in Century Play and Century cinema. We enjoyed time in the soft play area, followed by hot food, a movie and a treat bag before we caught the bus home ❤️ What a day!
