March came in like a lion in Ms Duffy’s room with our new theme “The French Pastry Shop”.  The children were just so excited. We worked in two role play areas: “The French Bakery” which sold its wares to the public and “The Pastry Kitchen” where the children read recipes to make pretend cakes. We learned how to make real pain au chocolat in the Baking Centre and then we wrote about how we made them. Crafting saw us make cupcakes out of cotton wool and tissue paper.  We learned lots of new French words too like baguette, crêpe, croissant and also how to greet each other in French. We were sorry to say goodbye to this theme.
