The children in Ms Kilkenny’s class really enjoyed exploring the Garden Centre theme. They loved getting to work in the role play area, gathering vegetables to make vegetable soup, mowing the lawn, working in the Garden Centre, arranging flowers and so much more.

As part of this theme the children learned all about the parts of a plant and the conditions needed for plants and flowers to grow.

They planted some cress seeds and made sure that they had enough light and water to grow. Once they had grown the children picked off the leaves and put the cress leaves on toast and ate it.

It was so much fun!!

They also explored the importance of recycling and what items can be recycled.

They gathered and used a range of recyclable items to make something inspired by the Garden Centre.
