Our 6th class children donated some of their confirmation money to the UNICEF Ukraine appeal. A total of €1000.00 was raised to help children and their families in Ukraine. This money will go a long way in helping UNICEF work day and night to scale up its response and meet the urgent needs of children and families.

As the fighting intensifies, hundreds of homes have been damaged or destroyed, leaving thousands of people without safe water and electricity. Families and children are leaving their hometowns and looking for shelter elsewhere, including in neighbouring countries. These are tough times, but thanks to the amazing support of the children, UNICEF can deliver hygiene products, including diapers, disinfectant, and wipes to temporary refugee centres.

To protect families on the move, UNICEF is also operating child-friendly spaces, called ‘Blue Dots’, along the transit routes. These hubs provide support to mothers and babies, and give UNICEF a chance to identify children separated from loved ones so we can ensure their protection.
