Welcome to Woodland National School

It is my great pleasure to welcome you and your child to the Woodland National School community.

My connection with Woodland is particularly special, as I was once a pupil here myself. Woodland NS gave me a wonderful start in life, providing me with the encouragement, opportunities and values that helped shape the person I am today. To now have the honour of leading the school and giving back to a place that gave me such a great start in life is something I am extremely proud of.

In Woodland NS, we believe that every child is unique and deserves to feel valued, supported and happy. Our school has a Catholic ethos, while warmly welcoming children of all faiths and none. We strive to recognise, develop and celebrate the individual character, talents and strengths of every child, creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging.

We want our pupils to enjoy learning, to be curious about the world around them and to develop into kind, resilient and confident young people. Alongside academic achievement, we place great importance on sport, the arts, citizenship and the development of the whole child. We are also committed to ensuring that pupils with additional needs receive the care, expertise and support they need to reach their full potential.

We are fortunate to have a dedicated and caring staff who work hard to provide the very best for our pupils. We also greatly value the partnership we share with our parents and the wider school community. By working together, we can ensure that every child has the support, encouragement and opportunities they need to flourish.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. I hope it gives you a glimpse of the welcoming, caring and vibrant community that we are so proud to be part of. Whether you are already a member of our school community or are considering Woodland for your child, I hope you find the information you need and get a sense of what makes our school such a special place.

I look forward to working with you and your child and, in my own small way, helping to give the next generation the same great start in life that Woodland gave me.

Gach rath,

Mr A Campbell
Principal
